How long does it take to construct a house?
This is one of the most common questions about custom home building. When the final plans are available and the land has been purchassed, we build your home in 6 months and guarantee the closing date upon signing.
How do you price a set of plans?
When we receive a set of plans to quote we alway bring our first price in at the Greemark Difference level of finish. At this point we have a meeting to go through finishes and potential changes you would like to make. This allows you to be able to pick and choose the exact finishes you want and also keeping your home in your budget.
Where does Greenmark Builders have lots available?
Greenmark Builders is able to build in a number of our partnering communities and we will build to suit. We currently maintain a small inventory of lots throughout Ottawa and the surrounding area, and we can help you locate available lots or parcels. Alternatively Greenmark can arrange to purchase a specific lot for you if the land costs are to be included in the mortgage for the house we are going to build.
Can you build a house on my lot?
Building a custom home from your set of plans or one of our plans is a big part of what we do. We will also work with you along with our design team to design the perfect home for your lot.
How important is building 'Green' and energy effiecency to Greenmark Builders?

Do I need to have architectural plans?
This is a very common question. The answer to that is no, but if you do that's fine too. You can pick from one of our amazing plans from our plan portfolio or you can use our award winning design team to work with you to design a custom home that is unique and custom to you and your family's needs.
Does Greenmark Builders have plans we can choose from?
Yes, we have a wide variety of bungalows and 2-story house plans from award winning designers for both in town and estate building lots. With our exclusive rights to the VTM Series of plans, you are getting innovative custom plans that are unique to your family's needs.
Can I make changes to the plans?
Changes and revisions can be made during the design process; however, all the decisions are made prior to construction with our design team to avoid confusion among trades and our superintendents. We work with you when making decisions because we understand that building a new home can be a very stressful time for you, we like to make it as stress free as we can possibly can.
There is so many decisions to make when building a home, where do we start?
Every Greenmark Home has time included with an interior designer to help you along the way with every finish you need to decide on. Our process makes your life very easy, from the selection of your kitchen cabinets, to your floors, to your fixtures you choose in your bathrooms, our personal designer is there to help you.
At what point do we communicate to Greenmark about building our home if we are not planning on moving into our new custom home for a year?
As stated in another question above we offer a guaranteed move in date 6 months upon recieving the deposit which includes signing a firm construction contract. Talking to us earlier enables us to have your family in our building rotation earlier which guarantees you to be in your home on your desired move in date.
